Ice Age: Collision Course is Perfect for Kids and Older

Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, John Leguizamo and Denis Leary return to a franchise that has begun to show its age.. In the late Ice Age: Collision Course, trying to control the path of a murderess from incoming asteroids, woolly mammoths Manny Ray Romano regret: "This is not working." It is probably a view shared by many support this chaotic his disappointing fifth episode of the successful series of computer animation. As the film Ice Age tends always to another shtick for the subject, who had always had a certain sweetness at its core, which is reflected in the different steps that take place in the prehistoric life of the protagonists. Unfortunately, age 15, and even Manny surrounding issues and his descendants have been relegated to the background, moved by cutting characters desperately trying to fill the emaciated image.

Considering the history of cinema, there is still enough distraction to allow younger fans Fox is comfortable to build on the more than $ 2800000000000 that total deposits collected to date (which premiered at the Sydney Film Festival) but others can not help but notice the vast emptiness of everything .

The new chapter, as with the above, begins with a prologue Scrat, with Neil deGrasse Tyson currently provide introduction and saber-toothed squirrel awkwardly chasing his elusive nut entire cosmos, ping ponging of celestial bodies, and help start the Big Bang theory of the process.

Meanwhile, on the mainland, Manny and Ellie country (Queen Latifah) is not particularly enthusiastic about the upcoming wedding of Peaches (Keke Palmer) daughter and optimistic constantly Julian (newcomer Adam Devine), but it takes the threat of an empty nest soon return to the enormous stone seat, fire rushing towards them. Manny is in urgent need to reach a plan, but it's hard to concentrate, what with the cacophony of animals hidden in IA5.

Besides Sid (John Leguizamo), Diego (Denis Leary), Shira (Jennifer Lopez) and grandmother (Wanda Sykes) is a collection of new characters played by Nick Offerman, singer Jessie J, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Michael Strahan, including Other.

It is as if the co-directors Michael Thurmeier and Galen Tan Chu, both veterans of the Ice Age series, felt that there was almost no place to go with the concept and the production site with too many things that people do tired breath, pop culture -tung "pieces" they were open mic night in the Paleolithic.

Even writers Michael Wilson, Michael Berg and Yoni Brenner, also outside the Ice Age universe, try something cooler, like Geotopia, a new community, introducing age and live in a large geode, not the concept back to life.

In the absence of a skeleton of an argument for hanging a movie on, you have much more hyper low Simon Pegg and weasels Buck sword (Dawn of the Dinosaurs was lost) and remarkably Scrat, which is never a bad thing - although every time watch movies on its space adventure, which alters the remaining investment was in the main plot.

As always, it is in any case looks good - the movie Ice Age can always count on a visual clarity of the prior art, and the site of the crash makes really good for the 3D glasses. Sometimes it feels as if you could reach right out and stroke all these wavy leather CG.

But for the most flaming star-shaped can not come quickly enough. "Ice Age: Collision Course", the fifth chapter breath on what has become the most recalcitrant series in the history of digital animation starts with a brutal prologue, but spectacular in which Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel, the system creates accidentally sun. He is a frozen desert, hunting for acorns that are always used for spraying from their clutches. Only now that the precious nut is trapped in a joystick that is frozen in a glacier and the following sequence can be described as Terrence Malick Tex Avery encounter:  When Scrat touch the handle and let the spaceship, shoot out into space, causing a chain reaction that cite other planets like billiard balls, almost like Scrat share split in 2010 short continents "Continental crack-up Scrat."

After the last two periods, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (2009) and the all too aptly named "Ice Age: Continental Drift" (2012), the series is running in smoke prehistory, but against all odds, he got his mojo. "Collision Course" is a cosmic drama down at the end of the world as we know it. A light entertainment possible in a larger perspective, but it has become an intense joy, flattering it is positively contagious. Even with competition from the likes of Pixar Animation caliber and lighting ( "The Secret Life of Animals"), the conditions for box-office seems solid as ice.

The other aspect of "Ice Age: Collision Course," which lasts from conventional animation film a little soul is a precious treasure, often beautifully carved visual humor. Glaciers are immersed in a misty lavender glow, indicating that the most perfect sunset I've ever seen. And it feels good, just like any asteroid purple flame color variation carries an indication of the sunset over the earth itself. The entire look of the Ice Age, this is more complicated than it was: a symbiotic dialogue between the forest and the snow, with hidden beauty pockets.
